INJURED SHOOTER Instructor
The injured shooter instructor course was designed to meet the needs of instructors looking to learn, improve & study various methods of incorporating injured shooter components into their training programs. In order to aid in building valuable programs for law enforcement departments.
During the 4 day course instructors will learn the mechanics of injured shooter applications, injured shooter principles, human behavior and incorporating the material into their in-service training or programs. Instructors will be introduced to live fire instruction, low light injured shooter applications, force on force and will be expected to conduct teach backs over the course of the program.
Students will leave with a full instructor packet to include extensive lesson plans, a power point, video diagnostics, diagrams, and relevant studies. This course will have long days and nights (depending on range logistics).
Upon satisfactory completion of this 32 hour course students will be awarded a Injured Shooter Instructor Certificate. Days will be long come physically and mentally prepared.

INDIVIDUAL EQUIPMENT LIST
- Approximately at least 800 rounds of handgun and 600 rounds of carbine ammunition (Allows students to have enough repetitions to build and reinforce techniques)
- NLTA Handgun & Carbine including at least 100 rounds of handgun and carbine NLTA ammunition - If you do not have NLTA we will provide it for you!
- Sturdy Holster w/ Belt
- Magazine pouches
- Handheld light (mandatory) Weapon light (optional, but highly recommended)
- Spare batteries for light systems
- 4 glow sticks
- Ear and eye protection (clear eye protection for low light)
- Weapon lubrication/cleaning kit
- Comfortable clothing used for strenuous activity (Pants only)
- Food and Beverage (highly recommended)
- Note taking material (optional)
- Personal IFAK for injured shooter work
- Proper protective equipment for RBT headgear, neck and groin protection
Course Prerequisites
- Current LE / mil / gov credentials.
- Recognized basic instructor cert (i.e. POST, TCOLE, NRA LE, etc) is recommended.
- FTO (Field training officer) or Academy cadre status can be used in lieu of an Instructor cert.
- Able to demonstrate and employ safe weapons handling during courses of fire.
