SCOTOPIC CARBINE - LOW LIGHT
Scotopic Carbine is our two-day low light course designed for the continuation after attending a low light intro or for those intermediate shooters to advance shooters looking to further their knowledge and proficiency of low light applications. This course focuses on how to employ your weapon system in a low light environment while understanding the primary flashlight applications, techniques and search methods on the carbine & handgun platform.
While introducing students to injured shooter applications & principles combined with low light applications. Low Light Carbine primarily focuses on employment of handheld, weapon mounted light & injured shooter applications, come prepared mentally & physically.

INDIVIDUAL EQUIPMENT LIST
- Functional and practical carbine with a minimum of 3-5 magazines
- Approximately at least 800 rounds of ammunition
- Functional and practical handgun with a minimum of 3 magazines
- Approximately at least 200 rounds of ammunition
- Sturdy Holster w/ Belt (Cross-draw and Blackhawk Serpa Prohibited)
- Handheld light (mandatory) Weapon light (optional, but recommended)
- Spare batteries for light systems
- Glow sticks, 2 per day.
- IFAK (Trauma Kit) to work out of. Consumables – Two packages of regular gauze, chest seal pack and pressure dressing
- Double or Triple Magazine Pouch
- Ear and eye protection (clear eye protection for low light)
- Comfortable clothing used for strenuous activity (Pants only)
- Food and Beverage
- Note taking materials
handgun/carbine class modifiers
- Same equipment as above for carbine/handgun platform - Handgun ammunition 600 rounds minimum
- A modern working carbine platform - Carbine ammunition 600 rounds minimum
Course Prerequisites
- U.S. Citizen.
- Able to legally carry a firearm.
- Able to demonstrate and employ safe weapons handling during courses of fire.
- Previous intermediate to advanced firearms training to include courses of fire where movement, barricades, working around others, communicating and adverse shooting positions were addressed.
